When following the Great Himalaya Trail 1700 km across Nepal in 2012, I experienced a hitherto unknown feeling of fascination in Dolpo, and I knew that I would return sooner or later.

However, it was not the landscape as such that made me want to come back but the Dolpo-pas` hospitality and openheartedness when sitting together with them in their kitchens or in front of their tents; drinking Tibetan tea and eating Tsampa. Their joy and happiness – despite poverty and hard living conditions - touched my heart and often made me wonder why there is so much unhappiness and discontent in western countries.

The lecture takes you to into the very heart of one of the remotest and highest villages on earth.
