When following the Great Himalaya Trail 1700 km across Nepal in 2012 I experienced a hitherto unknown feeling of fascination in Dolpo, and I knew that I would return sooner or later.

However, it was not the landscape alone that made me want to come back but the Dolpo-pas` hospitality and their joyful openheartedness when sitting together with them in a kitchens or in front of a tent.

Repeatedly Dolpo has been described as magic, mystic and almost untouched by Western culture. The lost Shangrila? I went there to talk to the people who fight against poverty and harsh living conditions. Their answers touched my heart and often made me wonder why there is so much unhappiness and discontent in western countries.

The lecture takes you  into the very heart of remote and high villages of this region.
