Cycling in Numedal

P1190468.JPG

There are currently nine National Cycle Routes in Norway.

Parts of Route nr. 5 (Medieval Valley and Mjölkeveien) follow Numedalslågen, Norway’s third-longest river, that guides you along significant stretches through small towns and villages.

Numedal is known as the Medieval Valley, a name it has earned due to the  stave churches and traditional storehouses dating back to that era.  Peaceful small roads with little traffic allow for relaxed cycling.

Kongsberg, a town with a 400-year-old history tied to silver mines and skiing, also offers train services, making it a convenient start or end point for your trip.
